This guide is a comprehensive screen repair manual for the iPhone 14 Pro, detailing each step of the replacement process. If you are experiencing screen issues, you can purchase our high-quality replacement parts and follow this guide to complete the repair.

Safety Warnings

  • Battery Safety: Before starting the repair, ensure your iPhone's battery is discharged below 25%. If a fully charged lithium-ion battery is accidentally punctured during disassembly, there is a severe risk of fire or explosion.

  • Power Off: Turn off your iPhone completely before beginning the disassembly process.

  • Glass Protection: If your screen is severely cracked, apply clear packing tape over the display to prevent glass shards from scattering and to ensure the suction cup can adhere properly.

Part 1: Disassembling the Screen

Step 1: Remove the Bottom Screws

  • Use a Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two screws located on either side of the Lightning/charging port.

Step 2: Apply Tape to a Cracked Screen (Skip if the screen is intact)

  • If the screen glass is heavily fractured, cover the entire display with clear adhesive tape. This prevents loose glass shards from cutting your fingers and helps maintain a flat surface for the suction cup to adhere to later.

Step 3: Heat the Edges to Soften the Adhesive

  • Use a heat gun to apply heat to the bottom edge of the iPhone for about one minute. The iPhone 14 Pro features a very strong waterproof adhesive around the perimeter; heating it will significantly ease the disassembly process.

Step 4: Pry Open a Gap in the Screen

  1. Secure the suction cup to the bottom of the screen (avoiding the curved edges near the very bottom).

  2. Pull up firmly on the suction cup until a very slight gap appears between the screen and the metal mid-frame.

  3. Swiftly insert an opening pick into the gap.

Step 5: Slice Through the Perimeter Waterproof Adhesive

  1. Slide the opening pick along the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive.

  2. Continue to heat the right, left, and top edges of the phone, using the opening pick to slice through the adhesive sequentially.

  • Note: The screen flex cables are located on the left side of the phone (when facing the screen). Therefore, do not insert the opening pick too deeply along the left edge (no more than 3 mm) to avoid tearing or damaging the critical internal cables.

Step 6: Open the iPhone (Like a Book)

  1. Once all the adhesive is sliced, do not pull the screen straight up!

  2. Open the display from the right edge toward the left, just like turning the page of a book.

  3. Use a sturdy object (such as a box) to support the screen on the left side to prevent tearing or straining the flex cables connected to the logic board.

Part 2: Separating the Screen

Step 7: Remove the Flex Cable Metal Cover

  1. Use a screwdriver to remove the 8 screws securing the logic board flex cable metal cover.

  2. Carefully remove the metal protective cover using tweezers.

Step 8: Disconnect the Battery Flex Cable (Critical)

  1. Use the tip of a spudger to pry the battery flex cable connector straight up from the logic board socket.

  2. Bend the disconnected battery flex cable slightly outward to ensure it does not accidentally spring back and make contact with the connector, which could cause a short circuit.

Step 9: Disconnect the Screen and Sensor Flex Cables

1. Use the spudger in the same manner to pry up and disconnect the display flex cable

2. Use the spudger in the same manner to pry up and disconnect the sensor flex cable

    Step 10: Separate the Screen

    • At this point, the screen is fully separated from the phone body. Place the phone chassis in a safe location.

Part 3: Transferring the Sensor Assembly

The back of the iPhone 14 Pro screen contains a paired sensor flex cable assembly (associated with Face ID, etc.). If your replacement display does not come with this assembly pre-installed, you must transfer it from the old screen. If you do not need to transfer it, please skip this section.

Step 11: Remove the Sensor Shield

    1. Unscrew the two screws securing the sensor shield.

    2. Remove the front sensor shield using tweezers.

    Step 12: Transfer the Sensor

    1. Use a heat gun to lightly heat the top sensor area on the back of the old screen.
    2. Carefully pry up the sensor module.
    3. Using your fingers and an opening pick, lift and peel the sensor module away with extreme caution.
    4. Precisely align the sensor module and secure it into its corresponding position on the new screen.

    Part 4: Reassembly and Testing

Step 13: Clean Residual Adhesive and Apply New Waterproof Adhesive

    1. Use a plastic scraper and high-concentration isopropyl alcohol to clean up any old adhesive residue remaining on the mid-frame and perimeter edges.

    2. Peel off the backing of the new iPhone 14 Pro custom waterproof adhesive strip, align it with the mid-frame, and press it firmly into place. Do not remove the top protective liner just yet.

Step 14: Reconnect Flex Cables and Perform Power-On Test

    1. Position the new screen close to the chassis, and reconnect the top sensor flex cable and the display flex cable in sequence.

    2. Reconnect the battery flex cable as the final step.

    3. (Do not fully close the screen yet) Press and hold the power button to turn on the device. Test the new screen to ensure touch sensitivity is responsive, the display functions normally, and Face ID works correctly.

Step 15: Final Sealing and Closure

    1. Once testing is successful, power off the device.

    2. Reinstall the metal cover plate and tighten all screws securely.

    3. Remove the top protective liner from the waterproof adhesive strip.

    4. Align the top edge of the screen and slide it slightly into the slots of the mid-frame. Then, press firmly down along the sides and bottom edges. A clicking sound indicates that the screen has snapped into the frame and is fully sealed against the waterproof adhesive.

    5. Finally, reinstall and tighten the two screws on either side of the bottom charging port.
